Two goals from Bernard Morrison in the 17th and 78th minute, and Meddie Kagere single goal in the 19th minute, were enough to give the defending NBC Premier League champions a Home win against Zambia's Red Arrows in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The second half started with both teams making changes where Simba replaced defender Pascal Wawa with Henock Inonga to bolster the defense.

The Red Arrows side made changes to the attacking zone from Felix Bulaya and was replaced by Ricky Banda.

Inonga's entry brought calm to the area due to his height playing many headers which were used as an alternative to scoring goals.

In the 57th minute, Prosper Chiluya of the Red Arrows received a red card after earning two yellow cards and continued to cost his team that needed to equalize.

In the 72nd minute, Simba SC's Spanish Coach Pablo Franco made changes to the midfield with Hassan Dilunga and Sadio Kanoute getting replaced by Ibrahim Ajibu and Mzamiru Yassin.

In the 78th minute, the Msimbazi Reds scored the third goal through Bernard Morrison as he scored a brace in today's game .

Simba made two final changes after replacing second goal scorer Meddie Kagere with John Bocco and Rally Bwalya with Peter Banda.

The Msimbazi giants came into the tournament after being knocked out of the CAF African Champions League by Botswana's Jwaneng Galaxy on away goals rule after a 3-3 aggregate draw, with the Red Arrows reaching this stage after beating Angola's CD Primeiro de Agosto with an aggregate score  of 1-0.

This is the first African international championship victory for coach Pablo Franco since being appointed to lead the team , following a win in the  NBC Premier League by 3-1, against Ruvu Shooting on November 19 at the CCM Kirumba Stadium.

The teams will meet again on December 5, in Lusaka Zambia and the overall winner will advance to the group stage of the tournament.
