Simba SC Stun Jwaneng Galaxy in Gaborone in Total Energies CAF Champions League Action

 

The Hosts who were Champions of the Botswana Premier league in the 2019/2020 were undone by John Bocco's early, quick and furious double in the first half with Simba's Shock and Awe Explosive start to the game effectively deciding the fate of the game early on.

Tanzania's Champions and sole remaining representatives of the East African Country in the Total Energies CAF Champions  League Simba SC , today won their second preliminary stage , first leg match away in Gaborone, Botwsana where they were hosted by Jwaneng Galaxy.

The Botswanans who are CAF Champions League debutantes sailed through to the second round by beating Central African Republic champions, DFC Arrondissement, by an aggregate score of 2-1. 

Galaxy was promoted to the Botswana Premier League for the first time in 2015, winning the First Division South with a match to spare.

While The Msimbazi Reds are among 10 teams did not feature in the first preliminary round of the competition due to their good record from last season continental contest.

The reds Earned an early corner in the  2nd minute going into the third minute of the game, the subsequent delivery resulted into the Galaxy Keeper Ezekiel Murake rebounding the ball straight into the path of Simba's Club Captain John Bocco who made no mistakes as he calmly slotted the ball into the back of the net within the 3rd minute of the game and the score boards read 1 - 0 to the guests Simba. 


The Goal fueled Simba & it was a Catalyst to their Confidence, effort and Desire and soon their forward momentum was rewarded , to the shock of the home team who as mentioned are new comers to the competition.

It was again the Captain Bocco who drove the ball into the back of the net with a powerful right footed strike. The move began by a short corner by Bernard Morisson who passed on to Zambina Rally Bwalya who chipped in the ball into the dangerous area and it ricocheted off a Galaxy defender straight into the waiting foot of Boccco who did the rest making it 2 - 0 in the 6th Minute of the game.


The  Batswana will face an uphill task when they meet Simba again net Sunday 24th of October at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, on the reverse fixture as the Msimbazi giants hold a basically impeccable record at their Home ground.
